The new Hornbach store in Trnava is an example of sustainable and innovative retail development. We worked on the entire process for several years—and today, it is officially open.
➡️ The project combines advanced technologies, including heating and cooling via water-to-water heat pumps. For cooling, the building primarily uses a so-called free cooling system, which harnesses the thermal capacity of groundwater without operating the heat pump.
➡️ Additional environmental solutions also play an important role: a green roof with photovoltaic panels, a rooftop terrace, an evaporation pond, and a grove of mature trees.
➡️ Underground parking makes it possible to preserve a high proportion of greenery on the 44,610 m² site, with a built-up area of 13,175 m² and 9,683 m² covered by extensive green roofing.
✅ As a market leader, Hornbach once again shows it is always one step ahead.
This project not only sets a new standard in retail development but also inspires others toward sustainable and forward-thinking solutions.
