Sport House was built on the site of the former bowling hall, which had long stood abandoned next to the Pasienky sports arena in Bratislava. After the old structure was removed, two new buildings began to rise on the site – Sport House and Activity House. Both buildings share a simple cubic form and communicate with each other through materials, yet each retains its own identity. While Sport House appears open and transparent thanks to its glazed façade, Activity House is more closed and intimate in character.

Low-rise, high standard
Sport House features one underground level with a garage, three above-ground floors, and a recessed fourth floor with spacious terraces. The façade is based on the contrast between dark facing brick on the ground floor and the top recessed level, and large glazed panels on the second and third floors. The sleek glazed façade gives the building a sense of lightness and openness.
As an accent, colored LACOBEL glass panels are arranged in a geometric rhythm across the façade, giving the building its distinctive identity. This rhythm is complemented by slim operable windows that allow for natural ventilation – an important comfort feature in a low-rise development like this.

Energy efficiency
The building meets the highest energy standards. Heating and cooling are provided by water-to-water heat pumps. The building is equipped with a mechanical ventilation system but also allows for natural ventilation thanks to operable windows.

Mixed use and flexibility
Sport House is a multifunctional building. The ground floor features the main entrance and several retail units. The entire second floor is dedicated to a fitness center. The third floor offers flexible office space, while the recessed fourth floor accommodates residential units with generous terraces.
The project was completed at the end of 2024 and is now nearly fully occupied.
